BUILT GREEN

UPTEN is a sustainable Built Green building.

Highlights include:

ENERGY SYSTEMS

Solar Panels: Photovoltaic solar panels on the roof provide renewable energy to residents.

​

Lighting: All lighting uses light emitting diodes, which use approximately 50% less energy and last up to ten times longer than lamps using other types of bulbs.

​

Energy Recovery Ventilators: Energy recovery ventilators are provided in the suites, which recover energy from the exiting air stream and increase heating efficiency.

​

Thermostats: Programmable thermostats allow for enhanced thermal comfort and conservation of energy.

​

Appliances: All appliances are ENERGY STAR labeled, which indicates high energy efficiency.

​

Heating Systems: High efficiency boilers located centrally in the building and high efficiency heat pumps have been installed in the suites.

​

Domestic Hot Water: High efficiency domestic hot water heaters have been installed in the building.

MATERIALS

Recycled Materials: Interior insulation and carpet tile contain recycled content, reducing the need for virgin materials.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Paints: Low volatile organic compound paints have been used to improve air quality and reduce the harmful impacts on occupant health.

Carpet: Carpet tile has been selected with Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Plus certification which demonstrates improved air quality for occupant health.

​

Insulation: Formaldehyde-free insulation has been installed in the building, reducing the harmful impacts on occupant health.

​

Energy Recovery Ventilators: Energy recovery ventilators are provided in the suites, delivering fresh air conditioned to meet the occupants’ comfort needs.

WASTE DIVERSION

Waste Diversion During Construction: A waste diversion program has been implemented, significantly reducing the amount of waste being sent to the landfill.

​

Recycling: The residential garbage room accepts commingled recycling and organics.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Bicycle Stalls: Secure bicycle stalls are provided to promote active transportation.

​

Relaxation and Social Interaction: A coffee lounge, party room, sky lounge, and outdoor amenity terrace provide residents opportunities for relaxation and social interactions with other residents.

​

Fitness Facility: A fitness room is provided for residents, allowing them to stay active year-round.

Sustainability Policies: Strategic Group has a sustainability policy published on their website confirming their dedication to sustainability both in the properties they build and manage, and in their own offices.
